New Life – Authentic Needs is een ervaring, direct voor de zwangere vrouw en indirect voor het ongeboren kind en voor iedereen in hun omgeving.
New Life – Authentic Needs heeft als doel het creëren van aandacht vóór de aandacht voor nieuw leven (en de unieke behoeften die daarbij horen).
Het concept is langzaam gegroeid uit eigen ervaringen van zwangerschap en geboorte én een andere, ‘oer’oude, maar een in onze huidige samenleving minder algemene, kijk op zwanger zijn en het geboorteproces.
Kan de zwangere vrouw haar oeroude plaats ‘terug’nemen; wordt de zwangere vrouw weer meer ondersteund, zodat zij ruimte en rust krijgt voor het volgen van háár natuur?
De bezoeker wordt voor het concept New Life – Authentic Needs begeleid naar een stilteruimte. Op een wandaltaar wordt een inleidende tekst over nieuw leven gegeven. De bezoeker heeft de mogelijkheid deze daarna te doorvoelen in Around. Het project Around is een gebreide hemel van mohair. Around creëert een omhulling in de ruimte. Een rustplek. Een plek die – sereen van binnen en buiten – toch in verbinding staat met de wereld om haar heen door de transparantie van het werk. Hierbinnen is ruimte voor aandacht. Around staat symbool voor ruimte, tijd en rust en dient als hulpmiddel om intuïtie te laten spreken. Bewust. Onbewust.
New Life – Authentic Needs is an experience, direct for the pregnant woman and indirect for the unborn child and for everyone around them.
New Life – Authentic Needs’ goal is to call attention to the awareness of new life (and its unique needs).
The concept slowly took form, growing from my own experiences during pregnancy and of giving birth and an other, ‘ancient’, but in our current society less conventional, view of being pregnant and the birthing process.
Can the pregnant woman gain ‘back’ her ancient position in society; shall the pregnant woman be supported, giving her the space and serenity needed so that she is free to follow her nature?
For the New Life – Authentic Needs concept, the visitor will be led to a quiet room. An introductory text about new life is presented on a wall altar. The visitor is given the option to experience this in Around by opening his senses to feel what is around him. The Around project is a knitted canopy made of mohair. Around creates an envelope within the space. It is a peaceful place.
A place – serene inside and out – that is nonetheless connected to the world around it by the transparency of the design. Inside, one is given a personal space to experience awareness. Around is a symbol of space, time and serenity and acts as an aid to give intuition a voice. Aware. Unaware.
